It has been recognised for many years that sleep in its finest form is a vital part of a healthy life, promoting a well-being both physical and mental. The pocket spring is at the heart of all Millbrook top quality sprung beds, each spring is placed into its own individual pocket and sewn all around to isolate it from its neighbours, ensuring no 'roll-together'.

Every Millbrook mattress in the range features traditional hand-side stitching which secures the outer springs to the border at top and bottom preventing ‘roll-out’, and is the most highly skilled and labour intensive of all the operations. Side-stitching is carried out by senior upholsterers using traditional long needles and twine to make borders and edges stronger. The effects on the mattress are quite dramatic preventing the springs from distorting and extending the sleeping area right up to the edge of the bed.

Millbrook Mattresses

Every Millbrook mattress is manufactured with the greatest of quality and care. With their pocket sprung mattresses, each spring is individually placed in to its own pocket and sewn all around to isolate it from the others, ensuring ultimate support and no “roll-together”.

Some Millbrook mattresses come with DPSS which stands for double pocket spring system. This is where the pocket springs are double stacked and individually hand nested providing superior levels of support. With DPSS, the top tier of springs absorb the majority of the weight whilst conforming to the body shape. The bottom layer of springs resist more gently, adding to the overall support and pressure relief, as well as the longevity of the mattress. In addition, Millbrook’s unique zonal edge springing provides extra strength to the sides of the mattress by adding two rows of firmer springs on either side, ensuring no “roll-off” or sleep disturbance.

All mattresses in Millbrook’s range feature traditional hand side stitching, securing the outer springs to the border at the top and bottom. This is the most highly skilled and labour intensive of all their operations and is carried out by Senior Upholsterers.

Millbrook divan beds are all made from solid timber to support their luxurious mattresses and the load-bearing joints are secured and glued by hand for lasting strength. All of the divan bases are mounted on smooth running solid metal castors, and if you choose a storage option you will find the drawers some complete with unique smooth ball-bearing steel action runners.

All of the sprung edge zonal divan bases have a unique springing system incorporating two support levels of spring torsion, with a higher gauge spring offering additional support to prevent “roll-off”, and creating a supporting foundation for your luxurious mattress

Millbrook also offer a range of mattress toppers. A mattress topper is a layer of luxurious padding that lies on top of your mattress. It makes your mattress feel that extra bit more comfortable. To prolong the life of your topper you should use a mattress protector on top, as you can easily wash this at home.
