Worth knowing:
Platform Top Base
What it is: A solid wooden top upholstered in fabric, forming the divan base. An End Opening Ottoman version is also available, using a gas ram mechanism to lift the entire base top for storage access.
How it helps you: The Platform Top gives a consistent, stable feel across the whole mattress surface, helping to extend the life of the mattress. The Ottoman option adds significant hidden storage without adding drawers to the room.
Storage Options
What it is: Drawer storage is available with a 20kg weight limit per drawer, alongside the End Opening Ottoman base described above.
How it helps you: Drawer storage gives easy daily access to spare bedding, while the Ottoman option suits customers who want maximum hidden storage and do not need daily access.
The Included Mattress: Hawthorn 3000
What it is: A medium (3/6) Pillow Top pocket spring mattress built on Duvalay's Midas Touch pocket spring system, filled with a Wooltec Fibre wool layer, silk and cashmere beneath a soft viscose cover. The mattress is hand tufted with rows of side stitching, flag-stitched handles and side air vents. Depth is 32cm.
How it helps you: The Pillow Top layer adds a cushioned first feel, while the pocket springs respond individually to your body shape for tailored support. The wool, silk and cashmere fillings help regulate temperature year-round. This is a no-turn mattress - simply rotate head to toe regularly to extend its lifespan.

Vs bed frames: A divan set sits lower to the floor with a more minimal visible profile than most bed frames, and the base is fully upholstered with no exposed legs or joints. The set includes the mattress, whereas bed frame buyers purchase their mattress separately.
Vs other divan sets in this price range: This set offers a genuine natural-filling mattress and hand-finished construction at a price point where many alternatives use synthetic fillings. The combination of a hand tufted, hand-stitched mattress with a solid Platform Top base and a 10-year warranty on both pieces is a step up from entry-level divan sets.
Vs premium and luxury divan ranges: This set shares the same upholstered base construction and pocket spring technology as higher-priced divan ranges. The difference is typically in the depth of the comfort layers and the range of fabric and storage options, rather than any compromise in base quality.
The Duvalay Hawthorn 3000 divan set is backed by Duvalay's 10-year manufacturer's warranty, covering both the base and the mattress against defects in materials and workmanship. With natural fillings and a hand-finished mattress construction, this is a set built to last, and the warranty reflects that.
National Bed Federation (NBF) Approved - Independently verified to meet strict UK standards for quality, safety and responsible manufacturing.
Made in Britain - Manufactured in the UK, supporting British craftsmanship and shorter supply chains.
The Hawthorn 3000 divan set pairs a solid, made-in-Britain Platform Top base with a naturally filled, hand-finished mattress, all backed by a 10-year warranty on both pieces. If you want a complete sleep package with flexible storage and genuine longevity, this is one to consider.
