Worth knowing:
Platform Top or Firm Edge Pocket Sprung Base
What it is: Two base options are available. The Platform Top has a firm wooden platform upholstered in fabric - a solid, stable surface throughout. The Firm Edge Pocket Sprung Base contains 1,000 pocket springs at the top of the base beneath the upholstery, with a reinforced spring border around the perimeter.
How it helps you: The Platform Top provides a consistent, firm feel across the entire mattress surface. The Firm Edge Pocket Sprung Base adds responsiveness and helps extend the life of the mattress by absorbing some of the daily load. Both are genuine Hypnos bases covered by the full 10-year guarantee.
Storage Options
What it is: Storage configurations available: non storage; 2 full size drawers; 4 full size drawers; Hideaway (concealed storage cavity beneath an upholstered valance on a platform top base); SuperStorage ottoman (full hydraulic lift of the entire base top, up to 44kg per side).
How it helps you: Drawers are made from hard-wearing laminate with smooth runners and a 20kg per standard drawer weight limit, offering easy daily access without lifting the mattress. SuperStorage suits customers who need maximum storage volume and do not require daily access. The Hideaway suits those who want concealed storage with a low-profile look. Allow clear floor space on the drawer side when ordering a drawer model.
The Included Mattress: Hypnos Eden Project Mediterranean
What it is: A Medium (3/6) or Firm (5/6) turnable pocket spring mattress. The spring system is the ReActivePro DUOâ„¢ 10-Turn Pocket Spring. Fillings include Talalay Latex, a Himalayan Allo, Kapok and Cotton blended layer, a Fruit Fibre and Cotton blended layer, and a Tencel and Bamboo blended layer. Finished with a seaweed-infused Damask cover and Triple Edge Protectionâ„¢. Depth is 34cm.
How it helps you: The ReActivePro DUOâ„¢ springs deliver the chosen tension with maximum precision and edge-to-edge stability, minimising motion transfer. Talalay Latex provides responsive pressure relief that returns to shape instantly. Himalayan Allo, Fruit Fibre, Tencel and Bamboo all actively regulate temperature and wick moisture, while the seaweed-infused cover adds natural temperature regulation and chemical-free fire resistance. Turn and rotate every 3-4 months to maintain even comfort on both sides.

Vs bed frames: A divan set sits lower to the floor and has a more minimal profile than most bed frames. The base is fully upholstered with no exposed legs or joints. Crucially, the set includes the matched Eden Project Mediterranean mattress - bed frame buyers purchase their mattress separately. See our full range of bed frames if you prefer an open frame design.
Vs other Hypnos divan sets in the range: The Eden Project Mediterranean is the only divan set in the Hypnos range at Land of Beds to come from the dedicated Eden Project Collection - a range developed in active collaboration with The Eden Project rather than simply using sustainably sourced materials. It is the only set to feature a Tencel and Bamboo blended layer and a seaweed-infused Damask cover, which provide a unique combination of breathability, moisture management and chemical-free fire resistance. With five plant-based comfort layers, a turnable design and the ReActivePro DUOâ„¢ 10-turn spring, it offers a genuinely different approach to luxury sleep compared to any other set in the range.
Vs firmer options: The Firm (5/6) Eden Project Mediterranean provides solid, well-supported sleep with five layers of plant-based breathability. Dedicated orthopaedic models provide maximum resistance for specific orthopaedic needs; the Mediterranean Firm is the choice when firm support and exceptional natural eco-credentials are both priorities.
The Hypnos Eden Project Mediterranean Divan Bed is backed by Hypnos's free 10-year guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship, covering both the base and the mattress. Developed with The Eden Project, crafted in Britain with Talalay Latex, five innovative plant-based comfort layers and a turnable double-sided design, this is a premium eco-luxury sleep set built for lasting performance.
Eden Project Partner - The Mediterranean is part of the Hypnos Eden Project Collection, developed in active close collaboration with The Eden Project. Together, Hypnos and The Eden Project are creating sleep products that respect, protect and restore the natural world, drawing on pioneering sustainable materials from nature's habitats.
Hypnos Royal Warrant Holder - Hypnos has held a Royal Warrant since 1929, supplying beds to the British Royal Household. It is a standard of craftsmanship that has to be earned and maintained over generations.
National Bed Federation (NBF) Approved - Independently verified to meet strict UK standards for quality, safety and responsible manufacturing. Not every bed brand carries this approval.
Made in Britain - Independently certified confirmation that the Eden Project Mediterranean Divan Set is manufactured in the UK, by Hypnos's fourth- and fifth-generation craftsmen.
The Hypnos Eden Project Mediterranean Divan Set is a genuinely different kind of luxury - five plant-based comfort layers including Tencel, Bamboo and Fruit Fibre, Talalay Latex, a seaweed-infused cover and the ReActivePro DUOâ„¢ 10-turn spring, developed in partnership with The Eden Project, all foam-free, fully recyclable and backed by a 10-year guarantee. In Medium or Firm tension, this is eco-luxury sleep at its most thoughtfully made.
