Worth knowing:
Platform Top or Firm Edge Pocket Sprung Base
What it is: Two base options are available. The Platform Top has a firm wooden platform upholstered in fabric - a solid, stable surface throughout. The Firm Edge Pocket Sprung Base contains 1,000 pocket springs at the top of the base beneath the upholstery, with a reinforced spring border around the perimeter.
How it helps you: The Platform Top provides a consistent, supportive feel across the entire mattress surface. The Firm Edge Pocket Sprung Base adds responsiveness and helps extend the life of the mattress by absorbing some of the daily load. Both options are genuine Hypnos bases covered by the full 10-year guarantee.
Storage Options
What it is: Storage configurations available: non storage; 2 full size drawers; 4 full size drawers; Hideaway (concealed storage cavity beneath an upholstered valance on a platform top base); SuperStorage ottoman (full hydraulic lift of the entire base top, up to 44kg per side).
How it helps you: Drawers are made from hard-wearing laminate with smooth runners and a 20kg per standard drawer weight limit, offering easy daily access without lifting the mattress. SuperStorage suits customers who need maximum volume and do not require daily access. The Hideaway suits those who want concealed storage with a low-profile look. Allow clear floor space on the drawer side when ordering a drawer model.
The Included Mattress: Hypnos Solace
What it is: A medium (3/6) pocket spring mattress filled with Red Tractor Assured British Wool and eOlusâ„¢ Sustainable Fibre. The spring system is the ReActiveâ„¢ 6-Turn Pocket Spring. The mattress is hand tufted, finished with 2 rows of hand side stitching, and covered in a 35% Cocona, 65% Viscose blend with a Cocona natural breathability treatment. Depth is 26cm.
How it helps you: The ReActiveâ„¢ pocket springs respond independently to body weight and position, delivering targeted support with minimal motion transfer between partners. British Wool regulates temperature year-round. The Triple Edge Protectionâ„¢ border extends the full sleeping surface right to the edge of the mattress. This is a double-sided mattress - turn and rotate every 3-4 months to maximise lifespan.

The castors add approximately 5cm of height, lifting the base off the ground.
Vs bed frames: A divan set sits lower to the floor and has a more minimal profile than most bed frames. The base is fully upholstered with no exposed legs or joints. Crucially, the set includes the matched Solace mattress - bed frame buyers purchase their mattress separately. Bed frames offer more design variety and a higher visual presence in the room, but they do not provide the same integrated base support for the mattress or the storage flexibility of a divan.
Vs other Hypnos divan sets in the range: The Solace sits as an accessible entry point into the Hypnos divan range, offering genuine Hypnos pocket spring construction, natural fillings and the full 10-year guarantee at a lower price point than mid-range or premium sets. The difference between the Solace and higher models is typically found in the depth of the comfort layers and the number of fillings - the craftsmanship, spring technology and sustainability credentials remain consistent across the range.
Vs premium Hypnos divan sets: Higher-end Hypnos sets such as the Premier Deluxe or Cambridge Deluxe include deeper pillow top comfort layers and additional natural fillings for a more cushioned sleeping surface. If you want maximum pressure relief or sleep primarily on your side with a preference for a more plush feel, stepping up the range is worth considering. The Solace delivers the same handcrafted foundations at a more accessible investment.
The Hypnos Solace Divan Bed is backed by Hypnos's free 10-year manufacturer's guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship, covering both the base and the mattress. Given the handcrafted construction and natural materials used throughout, this is a sleep set built with longevity in mind - the guarantee reflects that confidence.
Hypnos Royal Warrant Holder - Hypnos has held a Royal Warrant since 1929, supplying beds to the British Royal Household. It is a standard of craftsmanship that has to be earned and maintained over generations.
National Bed Federation (NBF) Approved - Independently verified to meet strict UK standards for quality, safety and responsible manufacturing. Not every bed brand carries this approval.
Made in Britain - Independently certified confirmation that the Solace Divan Set is manufactured in the UK, by Hypnos's fourth- and fifth-generation craftsmen.
The Hypnos Solace Divan Set delivers handcrafted British quality, natural breathable fillings and flexible base options - all backed by a free 10-year guarantee and made exclusively for Land of Beds. Whether you need drawer storage, concealed storage or no storage at all, the Solace is a complete sleep package that takes the guesswork out of buying a bed.
