A handcrafted, foam-free luxury Pillow Top pocket spring mattress made exclusively for Land of Beds, featuring Hypnos's ReActiveProâ„¢ 7-Turn spring, Red Tractor Assured British Wool, sustainably sourced cotton, Adaptivâ„¢ Comfort Springs and Soft Solotexâ„¢ fillings, a Belgian Damask cover, and a choice of Medium (3/6) or Medium Firm (4/6) tension.
The goldilocks option - not too firm, not too soft. Medium is the most versatile firmness level, balancing comfort and support in a way that suits most sleeper types.
Best for
A supportive feel with added stability. Ideal for people who change sleeping position during the night and need a balance of comfort and support.
Best for
ReActiveProâ„¢ 7-Turn Pocket Spring System
What it is: Hypnos's premium pocket spring system with 7 active turns per spring. Each spring is a single continuous coil that moves independently, responding to your body weight and position with exceptional precision and sensitivity.
How it helps you sleep: The additional turns and refined engineering allow each spring to detect and respond to the exact support requirement at each point along your body. Minimal motion transfer between sleeping partners, and the open spring structure drives air through the mattress to regulate temperature and keep it fresh.
Red Tractor Assured British Wool
What it is: A natural upholstery filling sourced from farms certified under the Red Tractor scheme, covering animal welfare, traceability and environmental standards throughout the supply chain.
How it helps you sleep: A natural insulator that keeps you cool in summer and warm in winter by regulating body temperature and wicking moisture away as you sleep - an ideal filling for a deep Pillow Top mattress that needs to breathe well.
Sustainably Sourced Cotton Layer
What it is: A certified sustainable cotton layer with responsive properties that complement the spring system and enhance breathability.
How it helps you sleep: Adds a natural, breathable comfort layer that works with the springs and wool to enhance airflow and contribute a gentle cushioning feel without compromising the spring support beneath.
Adaptivâ„¢ Comfort Springs
What it is: A secondary layer of micro springs positioned within the comfort layers above the main pocket spring system. They flex individually to body shapes, creating a balanced and responsive comfort surface.
How it helps you sleep: Adds a second tier of body-responsive support within the comfort zone, allowing the mattress to adapt more precisely to different body shapes and weights and delivering both cushioning and additional support from within the Pillow Top layer itself.
Soft Solotexâ„¢
What it is: A lofty comfort fibre layer with rebound properties and an open structure that promotes airflow through the comfort layers.
How it helps you sleep: Adds softness and cushioning depth to the sleeping surface and supports shape retention over time, keeping air moving through the fillings to help regulate temperature and reduce moisture build-up.
Triple Edge Protectionâ„¢
What it is: Higher-tension springs running around the full perimeter of the mattress, reinforcing the border from top to bottom.
How it helps you sleep: Extends the full Pillow Top sleeping surface right to the very edge - useful for couples who use the full width of the bed and those who sit on the edge when getting in and out.
Belgian Damask Cover
What it is: A soft-to-touch cover woven from certified sustainable cotton yarn and viscose in a damask construction, providing a smooth, luxurious and hygienic sleeping surface.
How it helps you sleep: The cover's breathable properties complement the natural wool and cotton fillings beneath, providing a comfortable and fresh sleeping environment from the very first night.
Hand Tufting
What it is: A traditional upholstery technique where tufts are hand-stitched from the top of the mattress to the bottom, securing all comfort layers in place.
How it helps you sleep: Keeps the wool, cotton and all other fillings evenly distributed and prevents them from shifting over time, maintaining consistent comfort and shape across the full depth of the Pillow Top night after night.
2 Rows of Hand Side Stitching
What it is: Senior upholsterers use long needles and twine to hand-stitch the outer springs to the mattress border at both the top and bottom.
How it helps you sleep: Strengthens the edges, prevents spring distortion, and extends the sleeping area right to the border - one of the most labour-intensive finishes in traditional mattress making.

Vs firmer models: The Sahara Deluxe's Pillow Top and natural wool fillings deliver more surface cushioning and pressure relief than a firm mattress. The choice of Medium or Medium Firm tensions means it can be configured to suit most sleeper types who want luxury comfort alongside good support. Firm models suit heavier sleepers or those who want a more rigid sleeping surface without a plush Pillow Top feel.
Vs softer models: The Sahara Deluxe provides genuine structural support beneath the comfort layers through the ReActiveProâ„¢ spring and Adaptivâ„¢ Comfort Springs. The Medium Firm option in particular offers real stability for back and combination sleepers while retaining the deep Pillow Top comfort. Softer models suit very lightweight sleepers or those who prefer maximum sink.
Vs the Mirage Comfort: Both the Sahara Deluxe and the Mirage Comfort share the ReActiveProâ„¢ 7-Turn spring, Adaptivâ„¢ Comfort Springs, Soft Solotexâ„¢, Belgian Damask cover and the same tension choices. The Mirage Comfort adds Talalay Latex in the Pillow Top for naturally hypoallergenic, instantly responsive pressure relief and eOlusâ„¢ sustainable fibre for enhanced breathability, and is finished with 3 rows of hand side stitching rather than 2. The Sahara Deluxe is the right choice for customers who want natural wool-filled Pillow Top luxury with Hypnos's premium spring at a step below the Mirage Comfort price; the Mirage Comfort is the upgrade for those who want the added benefits of Talalay Latex.
The Hypnos Sahara Deluxe is backed by Hypnos's free 10-year manufacturer's guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship. Given the premium construction - Red Tractor Assured British Wool, Adaptivâ„¢ Comfort Springs, ReActiveProâ„¢ spring technology and a 33cm Pillow Top depth - this is a mattress built for lasting performance. The guarantee reflects that.
Hypnos Royal Warrant Holder - Hypnos has held a Royal Warrant since 1929, supplying beds to the British Royal Household. It is a standard of craftsmanship that has to be earned and maintained over generations.
National Bed Federation (NBF) Approved - Independently verified to meet strict UK standards for quality, safety and responsible manufacturing. Not every mattress brand carries this approval.
Made in Britain - Independently certified confirmation that the Sahara Deluxe is manufactured in the UK, by Hypnos's fourth- and fifth-generation craftsmen.
The Hypnos Sahara Deluxe brings together the ReActiveProâ„¢ 7-Turn spring, a generously deep 33cm Pillow Top filled with Red Tractor Assured British Wool, Adaptivâ„¢ Comfort Springs and Soft Solotexâ„¢, all 100% foam-free and fully recyclable, backed by a 10-year guarantee. Whether you choose Medium or Medium Firm, this is a premium naturally filled Pillow Top mattress built for comfort and longevity.
