The Moonflower is a metal bed frame from Land of Beds, finished in a black nickel coating that brings a sleek, dark metallic character to a vintage-inspired silhouette. The tall 95cm foot end and 120cm headboard create the fully enclosed look of a classic bedstead, while the black nickel finish gives it a contemporary edge that works equally well in traditional and modern bedroom schemes. A sprung wooden slatted base sits beneath the mattress, flexing with your body profile to provide a cushioned, supportive feel throughout the night. Available in Double and King Size, the Moonflower is SMETA certified and uses FSC certified wood, confirming ethical and responsible sourcing throughout.
A black nickel metal bed frame with a vintage-style headboard and foot end, designed for bedrooms where classic bedstead proportions and a dark metallic finish sit comfortably alongside both period and contemporary interiors.

Worth Knowing
Black Nickel Finish
What it is: A dark metallic coating applied to the metal frame throughout, giving the bed a sleek finish with a subtle, multi-tonal sheen that shifts between near-black and a soft gunmetal in different light.
How it helps you: The black nickel tone is versatile enough to anchor both dark and light bedroom schemes - it reads as sophisticated alongside pale linens and warm woods, and as bold and considered in deeper, richer room palettes.
Vintage-Style Headboard and Foot End
What it is: A 120cm tall headboard and 95cm foot end in a classic vintage metal design, with elegant detailing across both panels that gives the frame a traditional bedstead character.
How it helps you: The matching headboard and foot end create a complete, enclosed frame around the sleeping space - a proportionally considered look that is harder to achieve with a headboard-only design, and one that gives the room a strong focal point from any angle.
Wooden Sprung Slatted Base
What it is: A slatted base made from flexible wooden slats with a natural spring to them, spaced 6cm apart.
How it helps you: Works in conjunction with the mattress to provide a comfortable, supportive feel. The natural bounce in the slats adjusts to your body profile where you exert the most pressure.
29cm Underbed Clearance
What it is: The distance between the floor and the underside of the frame, measured at 29cm across all sizes.
How it helps you: 29cm is enough clearance to slide standard under-bed storage boxes beneath the frame with ease, effectively adding useful storage to a bedroom without the cost or visual weight of an ottoman or drawer divan.

Vs divan beds: Bed frames sit on legs and allow airflow beneath the mattress, which helps keep it fresh and well-ventilated over time. The Moonflower also offers a generous 29cm of underbed clearance for storage. Divan sets sit closer to the floor, typically come with a matched base and mattress, and often include built-in drawer storage. If a completely integrated sleep set-up is the priority, a divan is worth considering alongside this frame.
Vs fabric and upholstered bed frames: Metal frames like the Moonflower are more hardwearing, easier to keep clean and better suited to rooms where a defined, structural silhouette suits the scheme. Upholstered frames are softer to lean against and bring more warmth and texture to the room. The Moonflower's sprung slatted base means the comfort level is strong despite the harder frame material.
Vs other frames in the range: The Moonflower Black Nickel is the only metal frame in the Land of Beds range and the only design with a high matching foot end - a combination that gives it a distinctly different character from the fabric-upholstered options. If the vintage bedstead silhouette appeals but a softer finish is preferred, the fabric frame range offers comparable headboard heights in upholstered options.
SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) - An internationally recognised ethical trade audit confirming the Moonflower has been manufactured under fair working conditions, with responsible labour and environmental practices verified throughout the supply chain.
FSC Certified Wood - The Forest Stewardship Council certification confirms that the timber used in the slatted base of this bed frame has been sourced from responsibly managed forests - independently verified, so you can be confident the wood has been produced without contributing to deforestation.
A mattress is not included with the Moonflower bed frame. Any standard UK mattress fits - slat spacing is 6cm. If you would prefer a matched recommendation, the following mattresses have been selected to work with this base.

The Moonflower brings a vintage bedstead character to the bedroom with the durability and easy maintenance of a metal frame - the black nickel finish, matching headboard and high foot end make it a complete, considered design that works across a wider range of interior styles than most metal frames manage.
