The Millbrook Inspire Prestige is a handcrafted pocket spring mattress from Millbrook, built around 4750 individually pocketed springs with an Ergo 7-zone support system, and filled with a natural blend of Hampshire wool, silk, English spun cotton and Cashgora wool - with no foam and no synthetic fillings. It's finished with Millbrook's Smooth-Tech tuft-free surface for an exceptionally smooth feel, and is available in a choice of Medium (3/6) or Firm (5/6) tension. Hand side stitched and fully chemical-free, the Inspire Prestige is designed to regulate temperature naturally, keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter, and is backed by a free 10-year manufacturer's warranty.
A handcrafted pocket spring mattress best suited to sleepers who want a choice of medium or firm support, zoned support from head to toe, and natural breathable fillings.
The goldilocks option - not too firm, not too soft. Medium is the most versatile firmness level, balancing comfort and support in a way that suits most sleeper types.

4750 Pocket Spring System with Ergo 7-Zone Support
What it is: 4750 individually pocketed springs, arranged across seven ergonomic zones from head to toe rather than as a single connected unit.
How it helps you sleep: The upper part of each spring contours to your body shape while the lower part absorbs changes in weight distribution, giving precisely tailored zoned support and minimal motion transfer between sleeping partners.
Smooth-Tech Tuft-Free Surface
What it is: Millbrook's own tufting process, developed to remove the small lumps and bumps created by traditional tufting methods.
How it helps you sleep: Gives an even smoother sleeping surface with no tuft indentations, so pressure is distributed more consistently across the mattress.
Hampshire Wool Layer
What it is: A soft, insulating upholstery layer of Hampshire wool.
How it helps you sleep: Wool naturally regulates temperature and has hygroscopic properties that encourage the evaporation of body moisture, keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter.
Silk Layer
What it is: A layer of fine silk fibres blended into a durable insulation layer inside the mattress.
How it helps you sleep: Silk is soft, strong and absorbent, adding a sumptuous, supportive feel while helping regulate your temperature through the night.
English Spun Cotton Layer
What it is: A fine cotton layer sourced in England, added above the spring unit.
How it helps you sleep: Its responsive properties complement the spring system to enhance comfort and improve breathability.
Cashgora Wool Layer
What it is: A luxury natural fibre from the Cashgora goat, a cross between cashmere and angora breeds, combining a fluffy texture with soft, durable fibres.
How it helps you sleep: Adds a plush, durable comfort layer with the natural insulating qualities of wool and cashmere.
Viscose Cover
What it is: A cover made from viscose, derived from natural wood pulp cellulose.
How it helps you sleep: Viscose breathes and regulates temperature well, and feels softer against the skin than cotton.
2 Rows of Hand Side Stitching
What it is: Two rows of hand side stitching around the perimeter of the mattress.
How it helps you sleep: Extends the usable sleeping area right to the edge of the mattress by supporting the mattress walls.
Flag-Stitched Handles
What it is: Flag-stitched handles fitted on all sides of the mattress.
How it helps you sleep: Makes the mattress easier to position and turn when moving it into place.
Air Vents
What it is: Ventilation points built into the mattress sides.
How it helps you sleep: Helps the mattress breathe, maintaining a fresh, dry sleeping environment.

Vs firmer mattresses: Choosing the Medium (3/6) tension over a firmer mattress gives noticeably more pressure relief at the shoulders and hips thanks to the natural wool, silk and cotton comfort layers. If you sleep on your side or share a bed and want a versatile all-rounder, this is likely the better choice. The Firm (5/6) option keeps the same natural fillings and pocket spring count but suits heavier sleepers or those who prefer a more rigid, supportive surface.
Vs softer mattresses: The 4750 individually pocketed springs, arranged across seven ergonomic zones, give more structural support underneath the natural comfort layers than a softer mattress. Softer mattresses can feel more immediately plush but may not maintain spinal alignment as consistently, especially for combination sleepers or couples with different body weights.
Vs premium and luxury mattresses: This mattress shares the same handcrafted construction, natural fillings and pocket spring technology found in higher-priced Millbrook ranges. The difference is typically in the depth of the comfort layers and the number of pocket springs, rather than any compromise in quality or craftsmanship.
The Inspire Prestige is backed by Millbrook's 10-year manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Given the quality of the natural fillings and the handcrafted construction, this is a mattress built to last - the warranty reflects that.
National Bed Federation (NBF) Approved - Independently verified to meet strict UK standards for quality, safety and responsible manufacturing.
Planet Mark Sustainability Certificate - Demonstrates a verified commitment to lower carbon emissions and more sustainable manufacturing.
Handmade in Britain - Every Inspire Prestige mattress is handcrafted in the UK by expert Millbrook craftsmen.
The Inspire Prestige delivers a rare combination: handcrafted natural fillings, zoned support from head to toe, a choice of two supportive tensions and a tuft-free surface for an exceptionally smooth feel - all backed by a 10-year warranty. If you want a foam-free mattress that keeps its shape and stays breathable night after night, this is one to consider.
Choosing a mattress online takes trust. That's why the Inspire Prestige comes with a 60 night comfort warranty - if it doesn't feel right, we'll exchange it. View the full mattress trial policy.
