Vs softer mattresses: The Caldwell's extra firm feel gives noticeably more support and far less sink than a softer mattress, keeping your body level throughout the night. If you're a front sleeper, a heavier sleeper, or someone who needs orthopaedic-level support, this is the better choice. Softer mattresses suit those who want a plusher, more cushioned surface.
Vs medium mattresses: This mattress offers a noticeably firmer, more traditional sleeping surface than a medium mattress, with hand tufting that reinforces the firm feel over time. Medium mattresses suit a broader range of sleeping positions, while the Caldwell is built specifically for those who need maximum support.
Vs premium and luxury mattresses: This mattress shares the same PostureTech spring technology and hand-tufted craftsmanship found in higher-priced Sealy ranges. The difference is typically in the additional comfort layers and finishing details, rather than any compromise in the quality of the support system itself.
The Caldwell is backed by Sealy's 5-year manufacturer's guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship. Given the twice-tempered spring construction and hand-tufted build, this is a mattress designed to last - the guarantee reflects that.
National Bed Federation (NBF) Approved - Independently verified to meet strict UK standards for quality, safety and responsible manufacturing.
Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme (FISP) Accredited - Independently recognised for demonstrating a genuine commitment to sustainable manufacturing practices.
The Caldwell delivers maximum firmness and genuine orthopaedic-level support, hand tufted and built to last - one of our best-selling mattresses for good reason. If you're a front sleeper, a heavier sleeper, or simply need a very firm, supportive surface, this is well worth a closer look.
Choosing a mattress online takes trust. That's why the Caldwell comes with a 100 night comfort guarantee - if it doesn't feel right, we'll exchange it. View the full mattress trial policy.
