Product Description

The Natural Hybrid® Escape is a premium foam-free hybrid mattress from Simba, handcrafted in Great Britain. It steps up from the Source with two full layers of Aerocoil® titanium micro springs totalling up to 3,800, combined with an additional British wool stability layer, over the same CoreMax™ 7-zone base. The result is a 30cm deep, medium firm mattress that delivers the boutique hotel comfort Simba designed it for: deep natural cushioning, excellent temperature regulation and near-total motion isolation.

Who Is This Mattress For?

A premium foam-free hybrid mattress best suited to sleepers who want medium firm support with deeper natural cushioning, outstanding partner disturbance isolation and a sustainably built construction handcrafted in the UK.

Medium Firm Feel - 4/6: A supportive feel with added stability. Ideal for people who change sleeping position during the night and need a balance of comfort and support.

Best for

  • Back sleepers – helps keep your spine aligned and supported
  • Combination sleepers – supportive and stable when changing position
  • Front sleepers – helps prevent hips from sinking too far
  • Couples – individually wrapped springs reduce partner disturbance
  • Hot sleepers – breathable natural fillings help regulate temperature
  • Sleepers up to 114kg (18st) per side

Not ideal for

  • Lightweight side sleepers who need more cushioning
  • Sleepers who prefer a soft, plush feel

Inside This Mattress

Hampshire Wool and British Wool Layers
What it is: Multiple layers of 100% British and Hampshire wool sourced through the Traceable British Wool Scheme, including an extra British wool stability layer unique to the Escape.
How it helps you sleep: The wool layers regulate body temperature, wick moisture away and provide deep, resilient cushioning. Hampshire wool is particularly known for its springy resilience, which helps maintain the loft of the mattress over time.

Aerocoil® Titanium Alloy Pocket Springs (Two Layers)
What it is: Up to 3,800 conical, individually pocketed titanium alloy micro springs across two layers, manufactured in Leeds.
How it helps you sleep: Two layers of Aerocoil® springs provide a significantly higher level of pinpoint support and motion isolation than a single layer. As each spring compresses, it pushes fresh air through the mattress, helping to regulate temperature and keep the sleep surface fresh.

CoreMax™ 7-Zone Barrel Spring Base
What it is: Up to 1,000 high carbon steel barrel springs manufactured in Hampshire, arranged in seven support zones with a reinforced steel frame border.
How it helps you sleep: The zoned base provides targeted structural support aligned to different areas of the body, extending consistent support all the way to the mattress edge. The reinforced frame minimises the roll-off sensation and maintains the shape of the mattress over time.

Plant-Derived Viscose Cover
What it is: A non-removable cover made from plant-based viscose fibres, with a bio-based fire retardant treatment on the top surface and sides.
How it helps you sleep: Provides a smooth, silky, breathable sleep surface that complements the natural fillings by allowing air to circulate freely, contributing to a fresh and temperature-balanced sleeping environment.

How it Compares

Vs the Natural Hybrid® Source: The Escape adds a second layer of Aerocoil® springs and an extra British wool stability layer over the Source. The result is noticeably improved motion isolation and a deeper, more cushioned feel without changing the medium firm tension. If you share a bed or want more natural comfort, the Escape is the stronger choice.

Vs softer models: The Escape sits at medium firm and is not designed for sleepers who want a soft, contouring feel. Side sleepers who carry less body weight may find more pressure relief from a softer mattress. The Escape is at its best for back, front and combination sleepers.

Vs the Natural Hybrid® Apex: The Apex adds a third layer of Aerocoil® springs, taking the total Aerocoil® count from 3,800 to 5,700, plus Cashgora wool and silk at the top of the comfort layers. If you want the very best Simba has to offer in the natural range, the Apex is the step up. The Escape offers the same premium foam-free construction at a more accessible price point.

10 Year Guarantee

The Natural Hybrid® Escape is backed by Simba's 10-year manufacturer's guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship. The quality of the British wool fillings and the precision-engineered dual spring system is built to last well beyond the guarantee period.
