Best for
A supportive feel with added stability. Ideal for people who change sleeping position during the night and need a balance of comfort and support.
Best for
ReActiveProâ„¢ 6-Turn Pocket Spring System
What it is: Hypnos's premium pocket spring system with 6 active turns per spring. Each spring is a single continuous coil that moves independently, responding to your body weight and position in whichever tension you choose.
How it helps you sleep: Targeted support that follows your shape with minimal motion transfer between sleeping partners. The open spring structure drives air through the mattress to regulate temperature and keep it fresh, complementing the breathable natural fillings in the pillow top above.
Pillow Top Construction
What it is: An additional layer of comfort fillings permanently attached to the top of the mattress, built proud of the mattress surface to create a distinctly cushioned sleeping face. The Hypnos Pillow Top Elite's pillow top contains Talalay Latex, British Wool, Adaptivâ„¢ Comfort Springs and Solotexâ„¢.
How it helps you sleep: The pillow top delivers an immediate, enveloping softness on first contact that a flat-panel mattress cannot replicate. It absorbs pressure at the shoulders, hips and joints before the main spring system provides its underlying support. This is a no-turn mattress - the pillow top is on one side only.
Talalay Latex
What it is: Talalay Latex is sourced from sustainably managed rubber tree plantations and processed using a specialist technique that creates an open-cell, breathable structure. Naturally hypoallergenic, antimicrobial and highly resilient, it returns to its original shape rapidly under changing pressure.
How it helps you sleep: Talalay Latex moulds to body weight and shape for precise pressure relief, then bounces back instantly as you move. Its superior breathability draws heat and moisture away, and its natural hypoallergenic properties make it an excellent choice for allergy sufferers.
Red Tractor Assured British Wool
What it is: A natural upholstery filling sourced from farms certified under the Red Tractor scheme, covering animal welfare, traceability and environmental standards throughout the supply chain.
How it helps you sleep: A natural insulator that keeps you cool in summer and warm in winter by regulating body temperature and wicking moisture away as you sleep.
Adaptivâ„¢ Comfort Springs
What it is: A secondary layer of micro springs positioned within the comfort layers. They flex individually to body shapes, creating a balanced and responsive comfort surface.
How it helps you sleep: Adds a further tier of body-responsive support within the pillow top comfort zone, allowing the mattress to adapt precisely to different body shapes across both tension options.
Solotexâ„¢
What it is: A lofty comfort fibre with rebound properties and an open structure that promotes airflow through the comfort layers.
How it helps you sleep: Adds cushioning depth and supports shape retention over time, keeping air moving through the pillow top to help regulate temperature and reduce moisture build-up.
eOlusâ„¢ Sustainable Fibre
What it is: A comfort layer made from repurposed polymer bottles that would otherwise go to landfill. Its vertically crimped structure creates natural air channels through the fibre.
How it helps you sleep: Actively circulates air and wicks away moisture more efficiently than foam, helping to regulate body temperature throughout the night.
Triple Edge Protectionâ„¢
What it is: Higher-tension springs running around the full perimeter of the mattress, reinforcing the border from top to bottom.
How it helps you sleep: Extends the full sleeping surface right to the very edge of this no-turn mattress, ensuring consistent support for couples who use the full width of the bed.
Hand Tufting
What it is: A traditional upholstery technique where tufts are hand-stitched from the top of the mattress to the bottom, securing all comfort layers in place.
How it helps you sleep: Keeps the Talalay Latex, wool, Solotexâ„¢ and eOlusâ„¢ fillings evenly distributed and prevents shifting over time, so the pillow top maintains consistent cushioning night after night.
3 Rows of Hand Side Stitching
What it is: Senior upholsterers use long needles and twine to hand-stitch the outer springs to the mattress border at three points.
How it helps you sleep: Exceptional edge strength that prevents spring distortion and extends the sleeping area right to the border - one of the most labour-intensive finishes in traditional mattress making.

Vs softer models: The Pillow Top Elite in Medium (3/6) delivers exceptional surface cushioning through the Talalay Latex pillow top, but provides more structural support beneath than a soft mattress. Soft models suit those who want minimal resistance; the Pillow Top Elite suits those who want a plush, hotel-quality surface experience with genuine pocket spring support underneath.
Vs medium firm mattresses: The Medium Firm (4/6) Pillow Top Elite adds more underlying resistance than the medium option while retaining the same luxurious Talalay Latex pillow top. Combination sleepers and those who need more back support will find the medium firm option a better fit than a standard medium.
Vs other Hypnos mattresses in the range: The Pillow Top Elite is the only pillow top product in the Hypnos range at Land of Beds - a structurally distinct construction where the comfort layers are built proud of the mattress body rather than integrated into it. The addition of Talalay Latex alongside Adaptivâ„¢ Comfort Springs, British Wool, Solotexâ„¢ and eOlusâ„¢ gives it the richest comfort layer specification in the range. Independently recognised by The Independent's testing team, it is the right choice for those who prioritise a genuinely luxurious, cushioned sleep surface without wanting to compromise on Hypnos's natural material credentials.
The Hypnos Pillow Top Elite is backed by Hypnos's free 10-year manufacturer's guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship. Handcrafted in Britain with Talalay Latex, Red Tractor Assured British Wool and a pillow top construction using the finest natural and sustainable materials Hypnos produces, this is a mattress built for lasting luxury - the guarantee reflects that.
The Independent - Indy Best - The Pillow Top Elite has been independently reviewed and featured by The Independent's Indy Best team, one of the UK's most widely-read consumer testing publications. Their reviewers found it to be outstanding for comfort and temperature regulation.

National Bed Federation (NBF) Approved - Independently verified to meet strict UK standards for quality, safety and responsible manufacturing. Not every mattress brand carries this approval.
Made in Britain - Independently certified confirmation that the Pillow Top Elite is manufactured in the UK, by Hypnos's fourth- and fifth-generation craftsmen.

Independently reviewed by The Independent as one of the most comfortable mattresses they had tested.

Its an excellent quality mattress and its clear that its made of the finest quality materials. If I am honest I have slept in beds that are just as comfortable where the mattress cost is a small fraction of the price of this one! However at 67 I am sure that it will outlast me. Curios as to why it needs to be turned one a week for the first 3 months as that a real pain in a modest size bedroom and many customers including me may not have anyone else in the house to assist with this process, so a bad ask!
