Worth Knowing
Pocket Spring System
What it is: 1000 individually wrapped springs that respond independently to weight and movement across the mattress.
How it helps you: Each spring moves without affecting those around it, which means the mattress contours to your body rather than creating a general hollow - and partner movement on a split King or Super King is absorbed without disturbing the other side.
Memory Foam Layer
What it is: A layer of heat-responsive foam sitting above the pocket springs, moulding to your body shape under warmth and pressure.
How it helps you: Distributes weight evenly across the surface, reducing pressure on hips, shoulders and joints - particularly useful in an adjustable bed where you may spend longer periods in a semi-upright position.
Soft White Fibre Layer
What it is: A dust-free white fibre filling, formed into a deep layer beneath the cover.
How it helps you: Adds an extra degree of softness and resilience on top of the memory foam and springs, helping the mattress feel plush without losing its underlying support.
Soft Knit Cover
What it is: A soft knit cover with enhanced cooling properties and a moisture management system.
How it helps you: Helps keep the sleeping surface fresh and comfortable, managing moisture through the night.
Micro-Quilted Border
What it is: A construction method where the side comfort layers are quilted together around the mattress border.
How it helps you: Gives the mattress a smooth, contemporary edge finish while helping to secure the fillings in place.
Flag-Stitched Handles and Chrome Air Vents
What it is: Handles on both sides of the mattress, along with chrome-finished side air vents.
How it helps you: The handles make positioning the mattress easier, while the air vents allow the mattress to breathe, helping keep the sleeping environment fresh and dry.
5 Break Action Adjustable Divan Base
What it is: A motorised divan base with a telescopic head extension, knee-bend action and a dedicated lumbar weight adjuster zone.
How it helps you: Lets you fine-tune your position with more precision than a simple head/foot tilt, useful for reading, relaxing, or relieving pressure on the lower back and legs.
Wooden Sprung Slat Base
What it is: Wooden slats with a natural spring, used across the adjustable base.
How it helps you: Works with the mattress to add a comfortable, supportive bounce, flexing with you as the base changes position.
Wireless Handset
What it is: A battery-powered handset that operates the base motors without a cable.
How it helps you: Lets you adjust the bed from anywhere in the room, useful if you share the bed and want to operate your side without leaning across.
Massage Function
What it is: A built-in vibration motor activated from the wireless handset, with different levels of vibration and modes.
How it helps you: Provides a gentle massage effect to help relax muscles before sleep, a welcome addition if you carry tension or have circulation concerns.
Underbed Lighting
What it is: Integrated low-level lighting fitted beneath the base.
How it helps you: Illuminates the edges of the bed to help with getting in and out at night, without needing to switch on a main light.

Vs standard divan beds: A standard divan bed sits flat and cannot be adjusted. The Kingham Deluxe allows independent elevation of the head and foot, which is useful for reading, watching TV, managing snoring or acid reflux, or supporting recovery from surgery or illness, with a massage function as an added benefit. Divan beds are typically lower in profile, simpler to dress, and cost significantly less. If positioning, memory foam comfort and a gentle massage function matter to you, the Kingham Deluxe is the right choice; if a flat, low-profile bed is what you need, a divan is the better fit.
Vs other adjustable beds: The Kingham Deluxe is a well-equipped, single-tier model - its 5 break action adjustable base, massage function and underbed lighting are all included as standard rather than sold as a separate upgrade. The memory foam comfort layer over pocket springs gives a closer, body-moulding feel than a springs-and-fibre-only construction, which suits sleepers who want more contouring support. It won't suit those who run hot overnight, since memory foam responds to body heat, so a cooling mattress protector is worth considering alongside it.
Vs buying the mattress separately: The Kingham Deluxe mattress is also available as a mattress-only purchase - useful if you already have a compatible adjustable base and want to upgrade the mattress without replacing the whole bed. If you are buying your first adjustable bed, purchasing the base and mattress together ensures compatibility. The mattress-only listing for this bed can be found here.
The Kingham Deluxe is backed by Sleepeezee's 10-year guarantee, covering the base, mattress, and motorised mechanisms against defects in materials and workmanship. A 10-year guarantee on an adjustable bed - including the motors - is a strong signal of confidence in the build quality, and gives buyers long-term peace of mind on a product that is more mechanically complex than a standard bed.
National Bed Federation (NBF) Approved - Independently verified to meet strict UK standards for quality, safety and responsible manufacturing.
Sleepeezee Royal Warrant Holder - Sleepeezee is a Royal Warrant holder, a standard of craftsmanship recognised by the British Royal Household.
Planet Mark Sustainability Certification - An independently verified certification demonstrating a measurable commitment to reducing carbon emissions year on year.
The Kingham Deluxe combines a medium tension pocket spring and memory foam mattress with a wireless 5 break action adjustable base, built-in massage function and a 10-year guarantee - an adjustable bed that delivers body-contouring comfort and long-term confidence in equal measure. Available in Small Single, Single, King and Super King, with King and Super King supplied as a split design for independent adjustment, and free UK delivery included.
VAT relief is available for qualifying customers. Find out if you are eligible.
