The Sleepeezee Hotel Classic 1000 is a traditional pocket sprung mattress from Sleepeezee, a Royal Warrant-holding British bed maker that has been crafting luxury beds since 1924. Originally designed for the hospitality trade, it's built around a 1000 pocket spring system layered with breathable British wool and cotton, hand-tufted and finished with vertical side stitching for edge-to-edge support. The result is a medium-to-firm feel mattress well suited to sleepers who change position through the night, with natural temperature regulation and tested compliance with UK Hotel Fire Regulations for genuine peace of mind.
A traditional pocket sprung mattress best suited to sleepers who want medium-firm support, effective temperature regulation and dependable hotel-grade construction.
Medium Firm Feel - 4/6: A supportive feel with added stability. Ideal for people who change sleeping position during the night and need a balance of comfort and support.
Best for
Not ideal for
1000 Pocket Spring System
What it is: 1000 individually pocketed springs, each encased in its own fabric pocket and working independently.
How it helps you sleep: The upper part of each spring shapes to your body's contours while the lower part absorbs shifts in weight distribution, giving personalised support and helping the springs work independently to avoid roll-together.
British Wool Layer
What it is: A soft, insulating layer of British wool positioned beneath the mattress cover.
How it helps you sleep: Wool is a natural insulator, keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter, and its hygroscopic properties help draw moisture away from the body for a fresher sleep surface.
Cotton Layer
What it is: A natural cotton layer with responsive properties that complements the spring unit.
How it helps you sleep: Adds a comfortable, breathable feel on top of the springs and helps enhance overall breathability throughout the night.
Edge-to-Edge Support
What it is: Reinforced support that runs the full width of the mattress border.
How it helps you sleep: Maintains the mattress in shape and extends the usable sleeping surface right to the edge, so you don't feel like you're rolling off.
Damask Cover
What it is: A soft-to-the-touch damask cover made from 62% Viscose and 38% Cotton.
How it helps you sleep: Provides a soft, fresh and hygienic sleeping surface that feels pleasant against the skin.
Vertical Side Stitching
What it is: Stitching applied vertically along the sides of the mattress to reinforce the border.
How it helps you sleep: Extends the sleeping area to the very edge of the mattress by supporting the mattress walls.
Hand-Tufted Finish
What it is: A traditional upholstery technique where fillings are secured by hand with tufts running from the top to the bottom of the mattress.
How it helps you sleep: Keeps the wool and cotton fillings evenly distributed, preventing lumps and maintaining a consistent, comfortable surface over time.
Flag-Stitched Handles
What it is: Handles sewn onto both sides of the mattress using a flag-stitch method.
How it helps you sleep: Makes it easier to reposition and turn the mattress for regular care.
Chrome Air Vents
What it is: Chrome-finished ventilation eyelets set into the sides of the mattress.
How it helps you sleep: Allows air to circulate freely through the mattress, helping to regulate temperature and keep it fresh.

Vs firmer mattresses: The Hotel Classic 1000 sits below our firmest options, giving you a touch more give at the shoulders and hips while still offering solid, hotel-grade support. If you move around during the night and want a mattress that supports you in whichever position you land in, this is the better fit. Sleepers who exclusively sleep on their front, or who are heavier, may prefer a firmer tension.
Vs softer mattresses: This mattress has considerably more structural support underneath its wool and cotton comfort layers than a soft-feel mattress. Softer mattresses feel more immediately plush and suit dedicated side sleepers, but they can allow the hips to sink further, which isn't ideal if you sleep on your back or front, or if you change position through the night.
Vs premium and luxury mattresses: This mattress shares the same genuine pocket spring technology and natural wool and cotton fillings found in higher-priced ranges, along with hand-tufted construction. The difference typically comes down to the depth of the comfort layers and the number of fillings used, rather than any compromise in the quality of construction.
The Hotel Classic 1000 is backed by Sleepeezee's 5-year manufacturer's guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship. Given the traditional pocket spring construction and natural fillings, this is a mattress built for durability - the guarantee reflects that.
The Sleepeezee Hotel Classic 1000 has received several awards and accreditations, including:
National Bed Federation (NBF) Approved - Independently verified to meet strict UK standards for quality, safety and responsible manufacturing.
Furniture News Reader's Choice Award - Best Mattress Supplier - Sleepeezee was voted Best Mattress Supplier by industry readers, recognising consistent quality and service.
Planet Mark Sustainability Certification - An independently assessed certification demonstrating a genuine commitment to lower carbon emissions.
Royal Warrant Holder - Sleepeezee is a proud holder of a Royal Warrant, a mark of craftsmanship recognised at the highest level.
The Hotel Classic 1000 delivers genuine hotel-grade comfort: a traditional pocket spring system, natural wool and cotton fillings, and hand-tufted British craftsmanship, all backed by a 5-year guarantee. If you change position through the night and want a mattress that supports you whichever way you sleep, this is one to consider.
